Dr. Jewel is a prominent Liberian politician who served as the Vice President of Liberia from 2018 to 2024. She is a member of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) and the first female Vice President in the history of Liberia.
Dr. Howard-Taylor has had a long and distinguished career in public service, having previously served as Central Bank Governor, senator for Bong County and as First Lady of Liberia. She is known for her advocacy on issues related to women’s rights, education, and healthcare in Liberia.
As Vice President, Dr. Howard-Taylor played a key role in the administration, focusing on initiatives to improve healthcare, education, and infrastructure in Liberia. She has been recognized for her efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the country.
Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia. She remains a significant figure in Liberian politics and continues to be active in public life, advocating for the advancement of her country and its people.
